Role Overview
We are seeking an analytical and hands-on accountant to take on the role of our Finance Manager and to oversee our financial operations at our Hammersmith headquarters. You’ll play a pivotal role in managing day-to-day financial functions, driving cost-efficiency, and providing insights that shape our business strategy. As Finance Manager, you’ll ensure financial accuracy, manage budgeting and forecasting, and support data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
This role is perfect for a proactive finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited to help Rightangled achieve its financial goals through diligent management and strategic insights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Operations: Oversee daily financial activities, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK financial regulations.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to create, review, and monitor budgets. Provide quarterly and annual forecasts to guide decision-making and resource allocation.
3. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis. Conduct variance analysis to explain financial performance and provide insights.
4. Cost Management & Efficiency: Identify cost-saving opportunities, analyse expenditure, and implement cost-control measures to maximise profitability without compromising service quality.
5. Cash Flow Management: Monitor cash flow to ensure the company maintains a healthy cash position. Oversee accounts receivable collections and ensure timely invoicing and payment processing.
6. Process Improvement: Review and improve financial processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability. Implement best practices and automation where possible to support company growth.
7. Compliance & Audit Support: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and prepare for annual audits. Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory bodies as needed.
8. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the CFO, CEO, senior management, and department heads, providing financial insights and support for strategic initiatives and company-wide projects.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring a solid finance background with a track record of operational excellence and strategic insight. Key qualifications include:
1. Finance Experience: 5+ years in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity, ideally in a high-growth or healthcare-related environment.
2. Knowledge of UK Accounting Standards: Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, and compliance requirements relevant to financial reporting and tax regulations.
3. Analytical Skills: High proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
4. Organisational & Time Management Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic setting.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
6. Technical Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills and experience with Xero accounting software. Familiarity with financial management software is an advantage.
7. Proactive & Solution-Oriented: A proactive mindset with the ability to identify and implement process improvements and address financial challenges effectively.
