Service Assistant - York Summary We’re looking for a Service Assistant to join us at Beningbrough Hall to bring Beningbrough to life for visitors. You'll work in both visitor admissions; welcoming everyone, promoting National Trust membership and helping visitors get the best out of their day and in the hall, inspiring visitors with the history of Beningbrough. Salary : 12.25 per hour Duration: Ideally starting week beginning the 28th of April, the contract runs until November 3rd 2025 Hours : 971.5 hours. This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the contract. The role will usually work 4 days per week. Rotas are released two months in advance. Regular weekend and bank holiday working is included in the role. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role. What it's like to work here Day to day, you’ll deliver a great all-round customer service experience. You’ll be on hand answering queries and listen to what our visitors need so you can share the right information. Your role is to make sure our visitors have the best day they can, whether you’re working in visitor admissions giving visitors the best possible start and end to their visit; or in the hall, bringing Beningbrough to life for visitors. Great visitor experiences are in our nature, and we believe everyone should feel welcomed, appreciated and more engaged because of the excellent service you provide. This role would suit anyone with a passion for delivering great customer service. As part of the Growing Support team, you'll understand and promote the value of membership to visitors. You'll be enthusiastic about the work we do, and you'll feel comfortable chatting with visitors about way they can show support, through donations, gift aid, membership or our bookshops. Reporting to the Welcome and Service Assistant Manager, you’ll be part of a team of 16 working at Beningbrough Hall. You'll work both in admissions, welcoming visitors to the property and in the hall itself, engaging with visitors about our exciting exhibitions & Beningbrough’s history. What you'll be doing The core part of your job is to give vital and positive support to your colleagues, wherever you’re needed, with a focus on greeting and helping visitors. No two days will be the same. You can expect to meet many different people and gain experience in different visitor areas. Most importantly, you’ll be talking to visitors, answering their questions and making sure they can find everything they need to enjoy their day.
