We are now seeking a compassionate and proactive Pastoral Support Assistant to join our dedicated team. Reporting to the Assistant Headteacher & Designated Safeguarding Lead, the successful candidate will provide crucial emotional, social, and behavioural support to students, fostering a nurturing environment in our Wellbeing Hub. This role involves delivering both planned and urgent interventions to help students manage their emotions, build self-esteem, and overcome social barriers. You will collaborate closely with teachers, the SENDCO, and external agencies to promote positive mental health and ensure students can thrive academically and personally. The successful candidate will be:
1. Empathetic and approachable, with a genuine passion for supporting the emotional wellbeing of young people.
2. Experienced in working with children or young people, preferably in an educational or emotional support role, with knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
3. Strong communicator with excellent active listening skills, able to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and parents.
4. Calm and resilient, capable of handling stressful situations with sensitivity and maintaining confidentiality.
5. Organised and proactive, able to deliver structured emotional literacy interventions and collaborate effectively with colleagues to support students' holistic development.
