Exciting opportunity to earn whilst you learn. We are looking for the next culinary superstar - working under the direction of our Head Chef with a paid day per week at college you will learn and study to become a Chef, whilst being paid.
You must be keen, hopefully a lover of food and willing to work hard. Chefs work long hours often over split shifts during the day usually 11-3 and 3-9. Ideally, you should have an easy commute to our location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Food Preparation: The apprentice Chef is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes and specifications. They will develop a thorough understanding of culinary techniques, ingredients, and flavour combinations.
2. Station Management: The apprentice Chef manages their assigned station in the kitchen, under supervision, ensuring that all necessary ingredients, equipment, and tools are available and in working order. They are responsible for organizing and maintaining their station in a clean and sanitary condition.
3. Quality Control: The apprentice Chef ensures that all dishes leaving their station are of high quality, properly cooked, and well-presented. They must pay attention to details, such as taste, texture, seasoning, and portion sizes, to maintain consistency.
4. Health and Safety Compliance: The apprentice Chef follows and enforces proper health and safety regulations and food handling practices. They maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in their station, including regular sanitization of equipment and work areas.
5. Time Management: Working in a fast-paced environment, the apprentice Chef must manage their time effectively to ensure timely preparation and delivery of dishes. They prioritize tasks, coordinate with other kitchen staff, and maintain a smooth workflow.
