Qualifications and Experience:
1. Experience of working with young people
2. Occupational Experience / Knowledge and Technical competence in route ways delivery
3. Qualified or with the potential and willingness to work towards CAVA qualification or equivalent qualification
4. ESW Communication Level 2, AON Level 2 or 8375 practitioners Award L3 or equivalent
5. Qualified or with the potential and willingness to work towards PGCE / Relevant teacher/trainer qualification
6. CAVA Unit Classroom based delivery
We are looking for experienced tutors with knowledge of the training industry, good knowledge and current practice in the sector, and safeguarding and prevent knowledge and understanding.
Your Role:
Your role as Youth Tutor will be to provide a learning and employability framework to Youth learners by teaching the Level 1 Health and Social Care certificate, ensuring the attainment of positive outcomes through the delivery of classroom and vocational assessment and training.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct initial interviews including assessment activities with learners using a range of tools
2. Deliver induction to all allocated new starts including digital platforms/curriculum/qualifications
3. Plan the learning and assessment process with learners, observing and recording assessments completing all relevant documentation
4. Complete and maintain accurate learner records
5. Deliver sessions which include direct teaching and the use of a variety of teaching strategies
6. Develop and utilise lesson plans for each taught session incorporating topics relating to whole class teaching, individual, paired, group and differentiated activities
7. Provide focused support to those learners who are pre-entry level or may have specific learning needs
8. Achieve appropriate qualifications in a timely manner
9. Work closely with the learners Lead Worker to identify progression opportunities
10. Complete all training and learner related documentation and paperwork to ensure correct content and accuracy, including monthly reviews of progress
