Job Description
Kilworth House Theatre is an outdoor venue and our goal is to provide a professional and warm welcome to all our Theatre guests, giving them prompt, efficient and friendly hospitality services.
This is a seasonal role with a start date of 1st May 2025, the contract will end on the 21st September 2025 (duration of the contract is 20.5 weeks). Hours per week will be 40, and your days off will be on Monday and Tuesday each week.
To be successful in the role you must have Bar / venue management experience and great customer service skills.
It's a great work environment and our temporary Bar staff come back year after year.
The job includes:
1. To open up the Theatre venue prior to the start of the Season and 'close down' the venue at the end of the season using the Standard of Performance document.
2. To manage the Theatre area, Bars and the Staging Post.
3. To act as a main point of contact for any customer queries, requirements, or complaints and to ensure correct handling.
4. To develop and train staff to the required standard, utilizing external training providers when necessary.
5. To maximise sales within the Theatre Complex.
6. To control the audiences and bar areas to ensure the production is able to open on time.
7. To ensure the Theatre is securely closed down each night.
8. To oversee corporate hospitality events in the Staging Post and Theatre Bar.
9. To present a welcoming impression.
10. To ensure cashing up is correct and banked using the correct procedures.
11. To investigate any banking imbalances.
12. To participate in the ordering of supplies.
13. To be responsible for the control of liquor on a day-to-day basis.
14. To ensure good housekeeping of the Theatre area at all times, noting that an external cleaning company will be contracted for cleaning.
15. To manage staff rotas to ensure adequate staffing for each show and Staging Post function.
16. To check and ensure that Rota One is completed accurately and any discrepancies highlighted and corrected.
17. To assist in managing the car park prior to the volunteer front of house staff arriving and post-show.
18. To report on any accidents should they arise.
19. To complete a handover report at the end of each performance.
