Job Description: Room Leader (Level 3)
Reports to: Team Leader
Location: Nursery-based in Walton-on-Thames KT12
Salary: 30,992.00 per annum
Role Purpose:
Manage the daily running of the room and support the management team in delivering high-quality childcare. This role includes travelling to other settings as needed and supporting other sites.

Key Accountabilities:
Early Years
* Implement and follow EYFS standards
* Comply with Ofsted and legislative requirements
* Act as a key-person and role model
* Handle parent queries and adhere to safeguarding practices
* Conduct room audits
People
* Lead and manage staff in your room
* Involve in recruitment and induction
* Support staff training and performance management
* Manage staffing rota and return-to-work meetings
Finance
* Understand and manage a small room budget
Health and Safety
* Follow health and safety legislation and manage risks
Marketing
* Support occupancy targets and marketing strategies
* Assist with show rounds and maintain a positive nursery image
Building/Utilities Maintenance
* Manage maintenance issues and maintain room standards
Person Specification
Essential:
* Full Early Years qualification
* Knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted framework
* Experience in team leadership
* Understanding of health and safety and equal opportunities
* Safeguarding training and paediatric first aid
* Satisfactory DBS check
Desirable:
* Higher Early Years qualification or willingness to study
* Management/leadership qualification or willingness to study
