Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed colleague to join our dynamic team, to help deliver a first class ophthalmic service for Bournemouth and Dorset. We are a friendly hospital with an interactive and innovative approach from our management team. To join a team of 13 consultants, 2 associate specialists, 4 Trust grade doctors and 6 trainees. The out-patients department and adjacent emergency area are well equipped with multiple clinic rooms, a separate one-stop cataract assessment area and a minor ops theatre. There is a 5 room macula suite with 3 multi-function injection rooms. We house a comprehensive range of diagnostic equipment, the majority of which is networked via Zeiss Forum software. Included are five Humphrey perimeters plus one Octopus, 3 OCT's (Zeiss), digital fundus and anterior segment photography, ultra-sound, Pentacam and IOLMaster biometry. Within the outpatient department are Yag, argon and SLT lasers. The orthoptic department is staffed by three full time and one part time orthoptists and there are special clinics including medical retina, vitreoretinal, glaucoma, oculoplastic, Paediatric, corneal and neuro-ophthalmology. Imaging facilities consist of CT and MR at both Bournemouth and Poole.
