We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated social worker for the post of Best Interest Assessor with Newcastle City Council. We would welcome applications from both social workers who are qualified Best Interest Assessors under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards and social workers with two years of post-qualifying experience who would be willing to complete the BIA training. Legislative changes are expected with the forthcoming Liberty Protection Safeguards, and you will be part of a well-established and supportive team that can influence how we respond to this. This is an ideal post for someone looking to further develop their career in Social Work and assist in shaping how we respond to new legislation to ensure Human Rights are upheld.
Ongoing support and supervision will be provided by a Safeguarding Adults Manager.
