Job title: Senior SHE Advisor Location: Barrow-In-Furness, Weapon Systems UK – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role Salary: £52,000 (dependent on skills and experience) What you’ll be doing: Lead activities associated with improving SHE practice and performance within Weapon Systems UK, including (but not limited to): deployment and implementation of SHE Policy and Management Systems, SHE objectives and targets, provision of competent SHE advice on risk management and control, collation and provision of SHE performance reports (such as incidents, audits, regulatory issues), investigation and reporting of incidents in accordance with regulatory and/or customer requirements, provision of an effective interface with regulators and representatives dealing with liability issues Support the development, maintenance and/or deployment of a SHE management system (including objectives, processes and assurance) that meet the requirements of BAE Systems Operational Framework and International SHE Standards (such as ISO45001 and ISO14001) and supports the achievement of organisational goals Support the development and implementation of innovative SHE change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in SHE risk management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices Exposure to various business units and potential opportunities to travel Nationally and/or Internationally Your skills and experiences: Hold one or more of the following QCF/NQF Level 3 (or higher) SHE qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety; Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice; IEMA or NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management; or an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject Comprehensive and contemporary understanding of safety, health and environmental management standards and practice (including but not limited too ISO45001 and ISO14001) Experience in supporting safety audits In depth understanding of SHE requirements, internal and external best practice and able to bring their experience to articulate these in order to ensure effective deployment within their work area Benefits: You’ll receive benefits including a competitive pension scheme, enhanced annual leave allowance and a Company contributed Share Incentive Plan.
