Senior Cloud Engineer

Our client is currently undergoing a period of organizational change and expansion. The post holder will be instrumental in the move from a largely on-premise physical server infrastructure to a hyper-converged hybrid environment with Microsoft Azure and Dell hardware. The post holder will work very closely with the Technical Architect and Systems Administrators to manage the transition from disparate systems to a common platform, develop new services to meet the changed scope of provision and to ensure maximum value from existing investments for all service stakeholders.
Responsibilities -
Design and configure new cloud-based systems to support divisional IT roadmap
* Microsoft Entra IAM integration with Azure instance
* Design, deploy and manage a new desktop application delivery platform using best practice security encryption and application isolation technologies
* Help design and manage the transition to managed support partnerships for key IT systems including Networking and Hybrid Cloud infrastructure.
* Design, configure and deploy Microsoft Intune to support the configuration and continuous management of all windows devices within the managed remit.
* Provide a relationship management role for key stakeholders within departments; to explain current projects, changes, and improvements within the environment
What you will need -
* Experience of high-level planning and design of IT systems and processes.
* Experience of leading IT systems and infrastructure project management and delivery.
* Proven record of Directory Services migrations, consolidations, and upgrades.
* Proven record of the design and administration of vendor specific systems – HP, Dell, Microsoft, VMware, Azure.
* Experience of PowerShell scripting to administer a Microsoft environment.
* Stakeholder management experience within a large complex organization.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical colleagues both internal and external.
* Demonstrable experience of a customer focused approach in a range of technical contexts.
Desirables -
* Experience of network management and administration including wireless and exposure
to network management and authentication tools and technologies.
* Degree in an IT related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience and/or qualifications.
* Demonstrable experience of network management – firewalls, switches, wireless controllers and access points.
* ITIL Foundation Certificate (or higher) or demonstrable experience in a technical support environment utilising the ITIL framework and processes.
