Bright Start Children’s Centre Services within Bath and North East Somerset are looking for a highly committed Volunteer Co-ordinator to support our service delivery.
About the Role
Through this role, and working with the service’s management team, you will support volunteers to engage in various volunteer opportunities available to support our work (within some of our groups, Food Clubs) and in developing our new ‘Community Parent Champion’ roles. This will include supporting their recruitment, induction and ongoing support. This will also include working to support volunteer and student placement opportunities including Care Leavers, something which the service and Council is passionate about ( ).
About You
We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual with at least a Diploma or degree in a relevant discipline who has a vision for outstanding practice and volunteering opportunities to join our team.
You will work in partnership with others to deliver mutually-agreed interventions.
The post holder will need to
* Experience of, interest in working with volunteers or those interested in volunteering opportunities.
* Work independently under the direction of a senior member of staff Work in partnership with parent(s) or carer(s), other council departments and partner agencies.
* Have a good understanding of safeguarding and promoting health and safety of children and families.
* Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
The post will be based at one of our Children and Family Centres and be expected to travel across the service delivery area, for which work-related mileage is payable.
