Based in Segensworth working with a team, you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring all departments have the required compliance tools and equipment needed to support the delivery of their targets. How you’ll support us on our mission to keep people safe and warm… Managing a team of 24 staff support staff, workshop and warehouse operatives. Focusing on safety, finance and efficiency while accountable for the selection, purchase, deployment, inspection and maintenance of over 60,000 items of equipment. Value c.£30 million. Accountable for annual capex budgets of £1.0million and Opex budgets of £2.3million Engaging with stakeholders at all levels, internal and external, to advise on and influence policies and investment relating to plant & equipment. Managing a warehouse and workshop ensuring Operations and Transmissions plant, equipment and instrumentation is compliant, available and maintained to minimise downtime. Committed to the zero harm message across the team and the wider business. Drive continuous improvements initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance. Coordinating with department managers and their teams to ensure equipment availability. What you’ll need We’re looking for a blend of skills and attributes that make you a great fit for this role. Financial experience/skills, with and an understanding of our financial (BORIS) systems is preferred but not essential as training will be given. A broad knowledge of the business, including operational disciplines. Some operational experience would be beneficial, however, more importantly you will have experience of preparing investment plans, managing budgets and driving performance. Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation internal and external, with a commitment to safety. Ability to network internally with other SGN departments and externally with suppliers, manufacturers and Government agencies. Influencing skills (solving problems and encouraging people to change) This post will involve an element of travel; therefore, a full valid driving license is essential.
