The Account Compliance team at Amazon is dedicated to making the organization the safest and most trusted place to buy and sell. Our primary goal is to protect our customers' interests while balancing risk management with exceptional customer experience. This is achieved through our global first line of defense (1LoD) risk program.
We are now seeking an experienced Monitoring Risk Manager to join our Global 1LoD risk program, with a primary focus on 3P VAT programs. This role involves supporting a VAT Monitoring program across the EU and other regions, to ensure that Amazon controls are adequate, operating efficiently, and meeting the requirements.
Key job responsibilities:
1. Lead a Monitoring program that performs continuous reviews of existing controls in Amazon to ensure they are adequate and operating efficiently.
2. Conduct reviews of Amazon 3P VAT Policies and Requirements to identify controls that should be subject to ongoing monitoring.
3. Work with Program, Tech, and BI teams to support the launch of monitoring mechanisms for existing VAT controls.
4. Deep dive into defects identified on VAT controls and provide support with root cause analysis, risk assessment, and identification of remediation plans.
5. Produce and present detailed reports with findings from Monitoring activity and provide updates to senior leadership at varying cadences (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly).
6. Expand the Monitoring program into new areas or products, or where VAT requirements are being introduced.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent.
- Experience in program or project management.
- Experience establishing successful partnerships with internal and external teams to execute tactical initiatives or equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in program requirements definition, together with data and metrics leveraging to drive improvements.
- Professional auditing qualification, or similar risk or compliance credentials.
- Experience with SQL and Excel.
