Salary: £30K plus Annual Leave and Company pension scheme
Working Hours: 9am till 5pm - Monday to Friday + Out of Hours on rotation monthly
Hybrid: Home-based, with the possibility of going into the office for staff meetings or emergencies.
Our client is a Domiciliary Care Company registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission with service user focused in Enfield, Essex and Hertfordshire areas.
They have over 25 years practical experience of working in the homecare sector.
They provide domiciliary care in the community to everyone. They are committed to supporting vulnerable people in their own homes so that they can continue their lives with dignity and independence and be participating members of their communities. They aim to provide care and support services to service users to enable them to remain at home and maintain their independence.
You will be responsible for managing approximately 50 carers who provide support to around 65 service users.
You will produce staff rotas using a computer-based roster system (People Planner), taking responsibility for ensuring that calls are covered in all instances as well as providing Community carers with the necessary information relating to the service user to enable them to deliver the best service.
You will proactively liaise with external agencies such as Hospitals, GPs and Social Services, as well as Service User`s family members and advocates, perform assessment and reviews.
You will manage a team of Community carers, taking responsibility for dealing with performance issues carrying out staff supervisions and appraisals. The role involves on-call responsibility and weekend work on a rota basis.
Good IT skills and ability to work within a fast-paced environment to deadlines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To cover all calls on our electronic rota system and ensure weekly rotas are completed in a timely manner.
- To follow up the initial contact between the community carers and service user to evaluate the Care Plan and ongoing needs.
- To develop and maintain relationships with your service users and care staff team.
- You will establish this by undertaking regular telephone assessments which monitoring the service user`s satisfaction and care worker performance.
- Effective communication with a wide range of individuals you will liaise with appropriate professionals, clients, and the organisations management as required to improve care standards.
- You will have a good understanding of the national minimum standards for care and a passion for delivering a high-quality person-centred service.
- If applicable maximise the capability of the electronic monitoring system with alerts assigned and managed in accordance with contract specific parameters.
- To maintain accurate written and computerised record keeping you will be required participate in an on-call rota ensuring 24-hour cover.
Requirements:
- NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with different kinds of people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prepare comprehensive reports
- Passion for helping people and providing personalised care
- Strong leadership and management skills and the ability to motivate others
- In-depth understanding of the organisation`s policies and medical regulations
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and respect for patients
- Proficiency with computers and Microsoft office tools such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time
