The Role The digital healthcare sector is rapidly growing and highly competitive, offering a dynamic environment to innovate and improve patient care. Delivering treatments quickly, safely, and efficiently is central to our operations. As Superintendent Pharmacist, you will oversee the setup, growth, and operations of a new pharmacy. Your responsibilities will include managing the dispensing and delivery of private prescriptions, particularly GLP-1 medications. You will establish and refine operational processes, staff rotas, and pharmacy structures to maintain the exceptional standards our patients expect. Additionally, you will be involved in recruiting key personnel and ensuring the seamless delivery of prescriptions, medications, and test kits in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner. You will also be expected to actively participate in prescribing or assist with other pharmacy-related tasks as needed, contributing to the daily pharmacy operations including prescribing. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with medical and pharmacy teams to ensure medication delivery adheres to best practice guidelines. Manage operational challenges, such as prescription allocation during Bank Holidays or addressing delivery issues. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of external processes impacting operations, including partnerships with Royal Mail, suppliers, and labs. Map, evaluate, and improve clinical and customer support processes in collaboration with stakeholders. Work closely with the data team to generate reports on pharmacy operations, analyze costs, and propose efficiency improvements based on KPIs. Partner with external providers to streamline processes and implement effective systems tailored to customer needs. Actively engage in prescribing or assist within the pharmacy as required to ensure optimal service delivery. Key Accountabilities Ensure the pharmacy operates in compliance with GPhC regulations and adheres to clinical safety standards. Manage staffing levels to meet the growing demand for services. Maintain up-to-date process maps for all pharmacy operations. Oversee KPIs related to the delivery of prescriptions, test kits, and medications. Monitor and optimize metrics for the UK operation, working with product and operations teams to achieve performance targets. Contribute to the prescribing or pharmacy duties on occasion to support pharmacy operations and patient care. Skills & Experience Experience : GPhC-registered UK Pharmacist with prescribing qualifications and insight into the digital healthcare landscape. Preferred Experience : Previous role as a Superintendent Pharmacist at a GPhC-registered pharmacy. Familiarity with process mapping and operational efficiency improvements. Proven ability to solve complex challenges with innovative solutions. Strong data analysis skills, including proficiency in Excel. Desirable : Stakeholder management experience, commercial contract negotiation, and knowledge of delivery provider processes. Personal Attributes A team player who can also work independently.
