An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual to join our administrative team to provide secretarial\clerical support to the Psychiatry Medical teams within the Learning Disabilities & Forensic Directorate.
The applicant will be the central point of contact for the Psychiatry team in North Lincs and will work alongside the current Medical Secretary in Doncaster to provide 2 days support, the successful candidate will also provide annual leave / sickness cover to the Doncaster medical support team where applicable. The environment is very fast paced and the ability to work to tight deadlines is essential. The applicant must also work well as part of a team to provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the service runs efficiently and productively.
The post holder will be required to liaise with our service users and family members, managers and staff at all levels, and other multi-disciplinary agencies, therefore candidates must have good verbal and written communication skills. Audio Typing is a big part of this role, so it is essential that you have experience in this field.
• Clinical Support
To prepare clinic lists, room space and all necessary documentation prior to clinic sessions
• Diary management for the consultant and members of the medical team including all aspects of meeting bookings and MDT meetings and ensure consultants and members of the medical team are fully prepared for meetings
• Set up and maintain SystmOne rotas
• Effective organisation and scheduling of clinics and appointments; cancelling, re-arranging and sending letters as appropriate
• Book home visits including liaison and contact with patients/service users and other professionals
• Arranging cross cover for consultants and members of the medical team for clinical sessions as required
• Record and maintain consultant and members of the medical team activities as appropriate
• Typing of reports specific to service area i.e. MH tribunal Reports, Discharge Summaries, Section 136 Assessments, Inter ward Transfer Reports, Daily Progress notes and Inter transfer Discharges within agreed timescales.
• Typing of letters to GPs, other general correspondence and clinic sessions sometimes of a distressing nature
• Audio typing of consultant/medical correspondence, sometimes of a distressing nature
• Organise/obtain/ return medical case notes from other agencies and ensure that the appropriate monitoring system is maintained
