Job summary
The Emmer Green Surgery is looking for a registered nurse to join our existing General Practice nursing team. Ideally this would be on a part time basis.
Would consider a newly qualified nurse as further training/courses could be provided for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Working as part of a multi skilled nursing team you will provide a comprehensive range of treatment room/nursing care services along with some chronic disease management to our patient population. See job description attached for full range of duties.
The successful candidate will need to have good interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work as both an individual and a team and be able to accurately record the details of all treatments carried out in the patients records.
About us
There are currently 2 Practice Nurses, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and 3 HCA / Phlebotomists in the Practice team working in a friendly and supportive environment. We have a population of approximately 12,000 patients.
The practice is very proactive in embracing change and training staff to ensure we can provide the best possible service to our patients and we are looking for a like minded person to join our valued nursing team.

Job responsibilities
Main Duties/Responsibilities of the Role
To provide routine nursing care as required within the treatment room.
Administer adult/child injections under agreed and signed PGDs/PSD directives
To develop, implement and embed health promotionand well-being programmes.
To identify, manage and support patients at riskof developing long term conditions, preventing adverse effect to patientshealth.
To request pathology services as necessary andprocess pathology results as required.
To maintain accurate clinical records and ensureread codes are used effectively.
Participate in national and local initiatives toenhance service delivery and patient care.
Support and participate in shared learningwithin the practice, including the review of significant events.
Ensure clinical knowledge is kept up-to-date andmandatory training requirements are met.
Prepare and maintain environments and equipmentbefore, during and after patient care procedures/Interventions.
Undertake, record and follow guidelines for thetasks for which you have received appropriate training and achieved competence.
Provide support and guidance to the health careassistants where called upon.
Participate in implementing national screening.
Participate in national immunisation programmesfor adults and children with the appropriate training and competency.
Comply with QOF, enhanced services and medicinesmanagement initiatives to maintain practice high achievements.
Perform new patient health checks
Perform NHS health screening checks
Assist GPs in procedures/chaperone as necessaryfor intimate examinations.
