A Booking & Capacity Supervisor has the responsibility to support the service and operational manager(s) in effectively managing the overall capacity for all outpatient appointments, ensuring performance measures and KPI's are maintained and key projects / initiatives are effectively implemented. This role has specific responsibility for the co-ordination of outpatient booking services and will be responsible for managing overall capacity for all outpatient appointments managed by the Outpatient Services department. This includes advising on clinic changes and highlighting the impact these changes may have in terms of future capacity and booking targets. The role requires planning and monitoring of clinic capacity at the MDGH and Community locations. The post holder will have supporting responsibility for managing the process of setting up new clinics, doctor and clinic codes. The role involves the rescheduling of appointments offered. The post holder will be expected to provide an element of support to the team leaders during periods of absence. Hours per week: 37.5 Main duties of the job Manage processes to maximise utilisation of all new & follow up appointment slots within designated specialties Implement & manage processes for the maintenance of the outpatient waiting list for designated specialities, timely discharge of patients who do not require an appointment. Support the management of actions resulting from the Patient Tracking List for all designated specialities in order that the Trust meets national targets. This will include the analysis of capacity & demand & the comparison of a range of options and their impact across the Trust. Be available to deal with the problems and concerns of patients, clients, relatives/carers relating to the service and will give non-clinical advice, information and guidance about the same. This role also shares the responsibility for supervisory cover in all areas of outpatient services The post holder will act independently within the appropriate occupational guidelines but refer when necessary to their manager Communicate clinic changes to all relevant specialties & departments Communicate all additional clinics held with key personnel. Provide timely information to the 18 week meetings regarding potential problems with capacity, this includes updates on and follow appointments & ensure input into the action plans as directed by manager across all business units reporting to service managers as required.
