About the Role
The successful candidate will support the planning team in progressing sites through the planning application and Local Plan promotion process. This role involves research, evaluation, and promotion of sites for residential or mixed-use development across the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct research to support planning applications and site promotion, including settlement analysis, policy evaluation, and socio-economic impact assessments.
2. Assess the planning potential of development sites in collaboration with the Land team.
3. Assist in master planning and site design.
4. Attend meetings with landowners and agents to help secure new development opportunities.
5. Monitor planning applications and track changes in local and national planning policies.
6. Support the preparation of representations for Local and Neighbourhood Plan consultations.
7. Maintain and update company planning data on Local Authorities.
About You
Candidates should have:
1. A degree accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or a degree in Human Geography with a willingness to undertake a part-time master's in Planning.
2. Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to problem-solve and show initiative.
3. Proficiency in IT and an ability to adapt to new software.
4. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
5. A proactive and adaptable approach, with a keen interest in developing a career within planning.
6. The ability to work collaboratively within a professional team environment.
7. Experience in GIS, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and Illustrator is advantageous but not essential.
