Manufacturing Supervisor - Permanent
Location: Stockport
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
The Opportunity
Join a well-established engineering business renowned for delivering high-quality mechanical solutions. We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to lead our operations team, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You'll play a key role in driving continuous improvement and will need the flexibility to work alternative shifts in line with business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Promote and enforce compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies; lead SHE initiatives in designated areas.
2. Manage daily production activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality-driven output.
3. Develop and execute recovery plans when production milestones are at risk.
4. Allocate resources effectively to meet operational goals and support wider business needs.
5. Handle team welfare, monitor attendance, and manage return-to-work procedures.
6. Upskill and develop team members through targeted on-the-job training.
7. Report on daily performance metrics and ensure compliance with quality management systems.
8. Maintain production capability and readiness in line with customer and business demand.
9. Lead workplace audits and maintain a clean, safe, and visitor-ready environment.
Skills and Experience
1. Demonstrable experience in a similar leadership role within aerospace, automotive, or related engineering environments.
2. Strong background in production planning, team leadership, and delivering to manufacturing schedules.
3. Proficient in SAP and experienced with MRP systems.
4. Skilled in resource planning, KPI tracking, and performance reporting.
5. Desirable qualifications include a Degree or HND in Manufacturing/Engineering and IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
