Working as part of a Cubic Transportation Systems project, you will help provide a Systems Thinking approach to development of our solutions. You will contribute to all parts of the systems engineering lifecycle from requirements clarification, analysis and decomposition, architectural and software design, system integration and commissioning into live operations.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Assist in defining and analysing system requirements, ensuring traceability and consistency.
* Participate in system architecture design, trade studies, and risk assessments.
* Support the development of system models using SysML diagrams and models.
* Develop to test plans for validation and verification activities.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and manufacturing engineers.
* Document technical findings, processes, and results for internal and external stakeholders.
* Assist in troubleshooting system-level issues and optimisingperformance.
Skills knowledge and experience
Essential:
* Interest in transportation and fare collection payments systems.
* Basic understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements analysis and system lifecycle concepts.
* Familiarity with fundamental engineering concepts such as system architecture, design trade-offs, and risk analysis.
* Ability to author technical and non-technical documents for communication to stakeholders.
Desirable:
* Familiarity with hardware/software integration concepts and how systems are tested.
* Experience involving multidisciplinary collaboration (e.g., working with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers/students).
* Exposure to model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools (e.g., Enterprise Architect, Cameo, MagicDraw, MATLAB, Simulink).
Education & qualifications
Essential:
* Enrolled in an undergraduate or post graduate engineering degree program at an accredited university in UK.
