The organisation has a modernised commercial and events offering grounded in social impact and storytelling, harnessing the spotlight and inspiration on Paris 2024 and our growing portfolio of major events. What will you be doing? As part of an existing partnership between British Cycling and Manchester Active, we are looking to recruit a full time Community Coach to deliver an exciting multi discipline coaching programme. Working full time on a flexible work pattern, including evenings and weekends, the successful candidate will possess the drive, experience and skills to develop Manchester’s cycling offer with a focus on developing opportunities for young people and families across the city. About you: Strong knowledge and understanding of Manchester Planning, leading and delivering entry level and multi-disciplinary cycling activities in local community hubs, club and after school settings, with a focus on children & young people. The role will involve activating the facilities at The National Cycling Centre working to engage the surrounding communities. Designing, planning and delivering progressive coaching activity to support the identification and development of talented young people, focusing on supporting and enabling rider progression through to community, club, event and our City Academy pathways in BMX and Track. Establishing relationships with community groups and organisations to identify and recruit new volunteers to become community leaders and champions. Working closely with regional and national British Cycling colleagues to provide communities with access to education, training and CPD. Developing community hubs, community clubs and schools clubs through coached activity. Planning, delivering and evaluating coaching programmes ensuring they reflect the British Cycling’s Strategy, and the bespoke Manchester Active partnership plan. Monitoring and reporting on the performance of community delivery and behaviour change interventions, including the collation of participation data. About you: A current Coaching Cycling qualification (desirable but access to qualifications will be given should you not hold a current cycling qualification). Relevant knowledge and experience of sports development, including club and coach development. Experience in sports coaching; establishing delivering and coordinating coaching programmes for participants. Experience of coaching in a wide range of environments including schools, clubs and community settings. Excellent planning and organisational skills. Ability to work efficiently on own initiative and to maintain a high standard of work under pressure. What are the perks?
