Job Summary: We are ideally looking for a Trainee / Graduate Laboratory Test Technician with electrical / electronic background to join our Team in Hawarden. Job Title: Trainee Laboratory Test Technician Job Description Summary: Conducts a wide range of test procedures, accurately obtains and records data, interprets results, and performs R&D projects that are not standardized. Technician assembles and disassembles test samples and may make modifications to experimental set-ups and troubleshoot malfunctions. Maintains and initiates direct client contact to provide and ask for information. Provides ongoing feedback to Manager and Certifier regarding suggested modifications to experimental apparatus and / or equipment being developed. May assist in work outside the laboratories as required. Processes paperwork projects where no engineering is involved. Key tasks: Conduct a wide range of test procedures on sample equipment to the applicable standards and interprets results of the test. Assist with the completion of assigned projects within negotiated time and cost schedules. Assemble and disassemble test samples, hooks-up laboratory test equipment in preparation for testing. Record technical data and draft reports, informing certifiers and clients with detailed test results. Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor. Maintain and develop lab Equipment. Preferred Skills & Experience: Associates degree in Engineering (Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering) or at least 2 years experience in a n industrial environment with electrical / electronic testing. Practical knowledge of working with test and measurement instruments and equipment, such as: oscilloscope, power supplies, multi meters, power analyzers and chart recorders; operation of machines such as drills, table saw, band saw and bending machines. Experience in circuit analysis and IEC/EN 60079-11 or battery performance testing is a plus. Ability to work independently, systematic and unsupervised in a team-based work environment. Flexibility and good interpersonal skills with abilities to communicate effectively. Computer proficiency (Word processing, Microsoft Word, Excel).
