Who we’re looking for
The Legal team at Omaze is responsible for protecting the company's interests by providing long-term strategic direction and day-to-day operational support.
Omaze UK is seeking an experienced and proactive Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the UK legal department, managing their own workload, and contributing to the smooth operation of the legal function and wider business. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a fast-growing B2C company with a mission to make a difference.
What You’ll Do:
* Work allocation management. Oversee the allocation of legal tasks within the legal team and act as the legal point of contact for various business areas.
* Contract review and negotiation. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, charity partnership contracts, and NDAs. Ensure that all contracts comply with group legal standards and company policies.
* Customer services legal support. Provide legal support to the customer services team for any escalated customer communications requiring legal support.
* Policy. Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures and provide training to the wider team on various legal topics.
* Data Protection and advertising law. Support the Legal team in ensuring compliance with data protection regulations, including UK GDPR, assist with data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest assessments and maintaining records of processing activities.
* Advertising laws. Support the Legal team in ensuring all marketing communications comply with all relevant advertising laws and codes.
* Legal operations. Manage the legal operations function including the legal team’s contract management system and all other legal team work management tools.
Our Ideal Candidate:
* A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Paralegal, preferably within a B2C company.
* Proven experience in contract review and negotiation.
* Experience in managing work allocation and working independently.
* Familiarity with data protection laws and regulations, particularly UK GDPR, is highly desirable.
* Fluent in English required (fluency in another European language a perk)
* Unmatched organisational skills and unyielding attention to detail
* Extreme multi-tasker with excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Willingness to learn other practice areas and to become familiar with laws of other jurisdictions
* Willingness to do the tedious, detailed-oriented legal work that keeps Omaze running
* Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement with minimal supervision
* Experience of prize draws, gambling and/or gaming laws and charity laws a plus.
