Ontic, a leading licensor and manufacturer of complex engineering parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, are now recruiting for a Customer Quality Engineer to join our team. Ontic is a more than just a business, we're a community of innovators who pride ourselves on fostering a culture where talent thrives, ideas flourish, and careers are built. We're committed to excellence, driving us to continuously improve and adapt, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of our industry. What will you be doing? You’ll be a focal point of support for Ontic customers regarding quality queries; you’ll host them onsite at our facility, complete customer quality questionnaires and respond to customer queries. You’ll be acting independently in this role whilst receiving direction and support from the Quality Engineering Team Lead and Head of Quality. You’ll liaise with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) to support new production acquisitions at Ontic. In addition, you’ll oversee Product Verification activities such as production inspection, preparation of paperwork and/or parts to support release personnel and fault finding. You’ll utilize our CRM system to review contracts/orders and support Material Review Board activities including investigations, dispositions and relevant ERP transactions. You’ll perform internal and/or external compliance audits as required. What will you need to know? You’ll ideally have strong working knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System standards and UK CAA Regulations. Experience in a customer facing role in a Quality Engineering setting is not essential for the right person. You’ll have experience of internal auditing, completing contract reviews, completing Root Cause Investigations (ie. 8D, 4 Whys, Cause & Effect) and experience in investigating and dispositioning non-confirming materials. You’ll have a distinct advantage if you have aware/ness of Airbus, BAE, Boeing, Rolls Royce & Safran Supplier Quality Standards, especially with Electronic/Electrical products. First Article Inspection Reporting (AS9102) would also be advantageous but not essential for success in your application.
