Job summary Our radiology service is looking to recruit a new radiographer to join us, delivering a high-quality dynamic radiology services to our patients in the New Forest and surrounding areas. We welcome applications from final year student radiographers who have a desire to develop and build on their newfound skills. The successful candidate should be competent/proactive/confident and be of a kind and caring personality to join our friendly team. They must have a sound knowledge of plain radiographic techniques and have worked in the NHS either as a student or qualified radiographer. A commitment to the Radiology "Out of Hours" and "extended day working" is essential. LNFH is a busy, community hospital facilitating Local GP services/clinics, theatre, wards and UTC. We work closely with our neighbouring Acute Trusts. There is free on-site parking for staff. The department is located on the ground floor with windows overlooking the forest. We also have a staff room and the option of outdoor seating. We have a completely digital radiology department - facilities include general x-ray, C-arm fluoroscopy, mobile image intensifier for use in operating theatres, DXA and Ultrasound. In addition, we also have a Siemens Altea 1.5T MRI scanner and a Canon Genesis CT scanner. The department supports extended role in most modalities and is dedicated to career progression within service needs. For further information and to arrange a visit, please feel welcome to come and have a look around Main duties of the job Perform Radiographic examinations, providing optimal patient care and a high-quality imaging service in order to assist in the management of patients referred from clinicians, in a safe and efficient environment. Assess own workload of patients, undertaking examinations in accordance with departmental procedures, and recording all associated information on the appropriate IT systems. To work primarily at Lymington New Forest Hospital (LNFH) and in our community sites at Hythe and Romsey following an appropriate induction period. To participate in extended day working as required (e.g. 08:00 18:00). To participate in the on-call out of hours service (e.g., 17.00-08.00) provided to the Urgent Treatment Centre and hospital wards at LNFH. To ensure ongoing professional registration. Maintain a commitment to continuing professional development and a high level of technical and theoretical skills. Supervise students, assistant practitioners and radiographic assistants, working with and around the post holder as an integral part of the role.
