Job overview
We require enthusiastic, organised and flexible individuals to support patient scheduling and reception duties within the Imaging Business Unit at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton (UHDB) NHS Foundation Trust.
The Imaging Business Unit is a diverse and exciting department with services delivered across 2 acute hospitals at Royal Derby Hospital and Queens Hospital Burton as well as 7 community sites throughout Derbyshire and East Staffordshire.
Responsibilities of this role will include reception duties, administration and clerical support for the scheduling of patients requiring diagnostic tests across a number of different clinical areas within Imaging, e.g. X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT Scan, MRI Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Bone Density.
There are opportunities for personal development within both admin and clerical and clinical teams within the Imaging Team.
With the continued implementations of our Community Diagnostic Centres, we are expanding our A&C Team to support patient scheduling and reception duties. We have various roles available across our Trust, with a primary base at one of the following: Royal Derby Hospital, Queens Hospital burton, Ilkeston Community Hospital or Florence Nightingale Community Hospital Derby.
Both full time 37.5hrs per week and part time hours will be considered. Evening and weekend cover may be required on a rota basis. These are cross-site roles cross-site working may be required.
Main duties of the job
Applicants must be confident communicators with the ability to liaise with colleagues and patients. Essential qualities are strong organisational/time management skills with the ability to multi-task and work under pressure. Flexibility is required as the post holders will be required to work across UHDB.
Applicants should have demonstrable experience of working in a busy customer-focused or care environment or have call handling and reception experience. Applicants must be experienced in using IT systems and/or appointment systems although training will be given.
Core skills/qualifications include: educated to English Language and Mathematics at O’ level/GCSE level, IT literacy, good written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and individually, with minimal supervision.
