Are you a transport planner or surface access professional looking for a new opportunity? This role takes an office first hybrid approach here at London Gatwick, with three days a week in the office, two days remote, managed around the needs of the business.
\n
What is the role?
\n
To manage the delivery and promotion of action laid out in the Airport Surface Access Strategy (ASAS) to ensure London Gatwick meets our targets for passenger and staff travel, modal shift and adherence to the company's Section 106 legal obligations and Decade of Change targets. To act as the interface between the airport's strategic direction and the day-to-day operation of key surface access modes, delivering against action plans and ensuring excellent working relationships with stakeholders.

What will you do?
\n
\n
* Deliver actions and interventions to help London Gatwick achieve the targets set within the ASAS and other strategic documents and priorities (Rail Strategy, Bus & Coach Strategy and Staff Travel Plan) to help optimise Gatwick's position in the region.
\n
* Head the development and delivery of key strategies and reporting, including the Active Travel Strategy, Staff Travel Plan and Section 106 surface access obligations. This includes leading on engagement and consultation with third parties, such as PAG and Transport Forum Steering Group.
\n
* Lead and deliver key projects and initiatives aimed at delivering mode shift among airport passengers and staff, contributing to London Gatwick's Decade of Change targets.
\n
* Steer and manage the airport's Transport Forum (Steering Group and Transport Forum conference) in line with Government guidance and ensure that it continues to support delivery of the ASAS, Staff Travel Plan and other strategies.
\n
* Identify, influence and deliver opportunities for the trial and adoption of innovative future mobility services and sustainable transport, with potential for new income streams.
\n
* Lead on transport-related communications, ensuring all comms channels are kept up-to-date with key travel / transport news, including the launch of new services or initiatives.
\n
* Manage interactions with key transport operators, engaging with other airport teams and stakeholders to ensure a positive passenger experience, smooth operations and a positive commercial outcome for Gatwick.

Do you have what we're looking for?
\n
\n
* Relevant qualification indicating a specific focus on transport or similar related discipline is desirable, but not required.
\n
\n
\n
* Substantial experience of working in an operational or strategic transport environment, preferably within airports.
\n
* Excellent awareness of airport surface access challenges, such as modal shift, sustainability, capacity.
\n
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
\n
* Strong experience of building effective relationships with stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
\n
* Ability to listen to and understand complex problems and identify potential solutions, working with internal and external teams and balance conflicting points of view or priorities.
\n
* Ability to represent and articulate the aims, goals and needs of Surface Access within the wider airport operation and commercial context.
\n
* Demonstrated history of successful project/initiative delivery with positive operational/strategic/commercial outcomes.
\n
