Purpose of the role
To support and assist the design team in theadministration of design tasks and presentation, archiving and design studiomaintenance.
Responsibilities:
Administration
1. Sample, print & colour management – keep samples organised on hangers and rails in studio and back room archive. Set up and maintain print archive including any prints bought, vintage or artworks developed by the cad designers. Responsible for the ordering of pantones for our master design palettes as well as the digital and physical creation of these palettes.
2. Travel admin – costings and booking travel and accommodation for design team
3. Design Studio – keep good organisation within the studio and recommend better ways to a better creative environment.
4. General office duties – filing, post, monitoring stationary stock levels.
5. Note taking during presentations if required.
6. Assist in setting up room for meetings and presentations.
7. Assisting on chasing up samples from Suppliers.
8. Setting up product boards and maintaining.
Design
9. Research – internet and external research on current trends and styling. Keep a constant library of reference for the designers to pull off.
10. Range plans – Keep range plans up to date and ready for sign-off meetings, but in liaison with Artworker so work is not duplicated.
11. Basic CAD & colouring in Adobe CS4 to support designers & maintain the range plans.
12. Responsibility of designing certain core programs key to our business such as socks & boxers/ underwear. Working alongside the senior Accessories designer to deliver range that enhances the NA and Apparel ranges.
13. Artworking – briefs set by designers to produce basic stripes, checks and prints. Prepare signed off artwork for suppliers (factory sheets and CD’s)
14. Fabric & Trim folder Library – maintain good organization/ archive of the fabric and relevant file systems. Responsible for sending colour to suppliers.
15. Working with designers to update lab dip file
16. Product Development – support designers on communicating with suppliers on the product development cycle, eg. Sending out packs, sending approvals of fabrics/colour/trims.
17. Organizing the filing of product development documentation.
Key Skills and Experience Essential –
18. Degree or equivalent qualificationin fashion designs or related.
19. Must be a good team player
20. Good eye for detail, organisedand pride in work.
21. Keen to learn and acquire newskills.
22. Thrives on working in a fastpaced environment.
23. A keen interest in fashion,design and the market place.
24. Excellent Computer skills inCAD, Adobe, Illustrator, Exceland otherrelated programmes.
