Mechanical Associate / Head of Design Required
True are exclusively representing a Multi-National Decarbonisation & Data-Centre specialist who work in partnership with local authorities and developers to create low carbon energy solutions for new build & retrofit projects across the UK & Europe.
They're looking to appoint a Mechanically bias Associate / Head of Design to build, lead and grow a Design department out of a new branch, based in Birmingham. You'll be responsible for approving designs for UK Decarbonisation projects, technically influencing new tenders alongside the Pre-Construction team and supporting the wider business on larger, complex projects and designs.
Responsibilities:
1. Approve designs for UK Decarbonisation projects.
2. Technically influence new tenders alongside the Pre-Construction team.
3. Support the wider business on larger, complex projects and designs.
4. Work on a diverse portfolio of education, healthcare, and special projects.
5. Source and secure new business through an internal Sales, Pre-Construction, and Bids department.
Mechanical Associate / Head of Design Requirements:
1. RIBA Stages 1-4 Expertise: Experienced in managing the design process from concept to technical development.
2. Technical Competence: Ability to step in and support the wider Design & Pre-Construction team with complex solutions.
3. Client-Facing Skills: Confident in handling client relationships throughout the design stages.
4. Proven Leadership: Experience managing a Design team, ideally having hired, nurtured, and grown a department.
5. Mechanical Bias: Strong preference for candidates with experience in designing plant rooms and energy centres.
