The main purpose of the role is to use simulation learning to develop the clinical skills (technical and non-technical) of the workforce in order to enhance the safety of patients.
Simulation at BHT includes the use of high and low fidelity manikins, part skills training devices, clinical equipment, virtual and augmented reality equipment and actors.
There will be opportunities to develop and deliver your own courses working with a variety of clinical stakeholders in order to meet trust objectives and priorities.
Summary of the role:
The post holder will work under the direction of the Simulation Faculty Lead. The main responsibility is the planning, implementation, delivery and evaluation of quality inter-professional simulation and skills-based educational programmes.
The remit of the post will include delivery of clinical education to doctors in training, post-registration nurses, allied health professionals, support workers, and undergraduate students. While the post will focus on simulation learning, a variety of teaching and learning strategies will be required.
The post holder will ensure all BHT simulation and clinical skills programmes are quality assured in line with current national and local policies and standards.
The post holder will have line manager and supervisory responsibilities within the Simulation and Skills team. Collaborative working will be required across Education Learning and Development and the wider organisation to support the safe and effective usage of simulation.
