The supervisor must pragmatically organise the day to day work and training within their laboratory to the most productive outcome. The supervisor must at all times have the company’s best interest in mind and often make difficult decisions to maximise throughout. The post holder must quickly rectify staff underperformance and ensure start, break, lunch and finish times are on time and diligent. They must Supervise laboratory technicians and ensure their full compliance with acceptable work habits, safety requirements, company policies, compliance to standards and policies, accuracy of test results, attitude, attendance, and all other aspects of their job performance. To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following: REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE Essential A level of knowledge and understanding in the analysis across a wide and varying range of metalliferous commodities that benefits the role. The understanding and knowledge of the department and having the ability to pass this down via training. Displays a current skill set befitting the role or displays a set of transferable skills that benefits the role. Able to critically review day to day workloads and prioritise accordingly. High attention to detail. Able to focus on meeting given deadlines motivating others to do so. Able to work independently clearly following instructions from laboratory line management. Able to communicate effectively in a range of different formats. Keeping all staff on track and working on target with the company’s best interest in mind. Required Work Experience Experience in a commercial analytical laboratory environment. A keen interest and clear understanding of requirements in people management through effective supervision.
