Job Title: Biomedical Scientist - Histology and Cytology Banding: Band 5/6 Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week Start Date: ASAP Rate: £26 per hour Duration: Ongoing We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist with histology and cytology experience to join our esteemed client in Salisbury. Your advanced expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the precision and reliability of test results, which are critical for accurate patient diagnosis and treatment. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and examining cell and tissue samples under a microscope to detect abnormalities and diagnose diseases. You will identify cellular and tissue changes, report findings to medical professionals, maintain laboratory equipment, and ensure compliance with safety protocols and laboratory standards. You will be responsible for preparing histological and cytological slides for diagnosis, using techniques like immunocytochemistry and traditional methods, and ensuring quality control. Additionally, you will conduct a broad spectrum of histology and cytology tests, including cutting 25 blocks per hour, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver superior patient care. Qualifications and Experience: Extensive experience in histology/cytology. Ability to cut 25 blocks per hour. HCPC registration. Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science or a related field.
