Your Role and Responsibilities:
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful financial delivery of projects. Responsibilities include:
1. Variation Management: Accurately assess and manage contract variations, ensuring compliance with agreements and minimizing disputes.
2. Package Management: Oversee individual packages of work valued up to £2 million, ensuring budgets, timelines, and quality standards are met.
3. Account Settlements: Prepare and settle subcontractor and client accounts in a timely and professional manner.
4. Stakeholder Communication: Act as a key contact for stakeholders, handling phone calls and queries confidently while maintaining strong relationships.
5. Reporting and Analysis: Use Microsoft Excel and other tools to produce detailed cost reports, forecasts, and financial documentation.
6. Support Functions: Assist the senior commercial team with cost estimation, procurement, and budgeting activities.

1. Experience with a Tier 1 Contractor: Familiarity with high-value projects and established processes.
2. Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general computer literacy.

Qualifications and Experience:
1. A degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred but not essential).
2. 2+ years of relevant experience, ideally with a Tier 1 contractor or within a similar large-scale construction environment.
3. Experience managing subcontractor accounts and packages up to £2 million in value.
