At Derby Road Practice we pride ourselves in being a wellestablished, friendly, flexible, forward thinking primary care team. As part of SPC, we lookafter over 18,500 patients. As a training practice we will support, train and professionally developthe right individual who can help us meet our patients needs.
This role isoffered on a 6-8 session basis but part time hours will be considered. If you are right for us, we will make itright for you.
Currently wehave 2 partners, 5 salaried GPs and a full supporting admin and reception team,this is an amazing opportunity for an experienced GP to take on a newchallenge.
Acompetitive range of sessional pay is available, which is dependent onexperience.
We have developed ourunique GP-PA hub a team of highly skilled care navigators and duty doctorsworking together to triage all incoming requests.
We use the askmyGP online consultation service allowing us to manage our own workload with control over F2F appointment lengths and timings.
We are an established training practicecurrently working with 3 GP registrars
We were recently rated outstanding in Well Led,Good in all other areas by CQC .
We have an efficient care navigation andadministrative team to support all the staff in patient care

Main duties of the job
1. As agreed in co-operative practice with colleagues, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, On Call, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. To include the designated share of workflow and pathology reports.
2. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
3. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
4. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
5. Engaging with activities such as the QOF, LES/DES and other additional work essential for providing a full service for patients

Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities:

As agreed in co-operative practice with colleagues, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone/video consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, On Call, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. To include the designated share of workflow and pathology reports.
7. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
8. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
9. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
10. Engaging with activities such as the QOF, LES/DES and other additional work essential for providing a full service for patients
11. In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
12. Providing counselling and health education
13. Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
14. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
15. Collecting data for audit purposes
16. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
17. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) and the CCG whenever this is clinically appropriate
18. In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

19. Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety, CQC
20. A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
21. Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation
22. Contributing to the housekeeping and updating of computer-based patient records.
23. To comply with the Practice IT policy
24. Contributing to read-coding patient data
25. Attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
