We are looking for a passionate, bubbly & experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a lovely primary school in Walsall. The role is working with groups of pupils with varying SEND and Behaviour Needs. The position is to start from ASAP, full time on a long term basis. Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted support to students with SEN, such as Autism, non-verbal and sensory needs, adapting your approach to meet their needs. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management plans. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social and emotional development. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a holistic approach to student development. Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teaching staff and parents. Qualifications and Experience: Previous experience working in a similar role such as within a SEN setting. Relevant qualifications in education or special needs support (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or a childcare qualification). Understanding of different learning needs, including autism, ADHD, and other developmental disorders. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN. DBS registered to the update service. Assist in the educational process by helping to implement lesson plans tailored for individual needs.
