About the Role
This is an exciting role within Abbot’s Lea School Leadership Team. Reporting to the Head of Therapies and working within a large integrative Multi-Disciplinary Team. Are you an experienced and inspirational professional looking to join a large, brilliant, award-winning special school which aims to always expand its professional expertise? We are looking to appoint an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist who is a dedicated and innovative practitioner committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for our students.
We address the individual learning and therapeutic needs of all our students and provide a broad and balanced curriculum. We are seeking to fill a vacancy arising from the previous OT moving on to a new role. The post holder would join a team which includes:
* Head of Therapies and Safeguarding Manager
* Safeguarding Assistant
* Speech and Language Therapist
* Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist
* Positive Behaviour Support Assistants
* Therapies Assistant
* This team provides universal, targeted and specialist approaches across the school.
Personal Qualities
A postgraduate qualification in sensory integration would be an advantage. For the posts advertised, you must:
* Be able to meet key accountabilities set out in Job Description and Person Specification
* Be able to use ICT effectively
* Have excellent organisational skills
* Have excellent communication and team working skills
* Good levels of literacy and numeracy
* Be willing and able to undertake all aspects of the role, working with students aged 3-19 with Autism and complex learning and behaviour needs.
