• Provideprofessionalleadership,adviceandguidancetojuniornursesandhealthcareassistantsandfostercollaborativepartnershipswithotherdisciplines.
• Communicateeffectivelywithpatientsandtheirrelatives,ensuringaccurateandseamlessinformationisconveyedanddocumented.
• Assistinthemaintenanceandmonitoringofagreedstandards,ensuringthatanyshortfallisbroughttotheattentionofthelinemanager.
• Ensurethatallqualityinitiativeswithinthenursingenvironmentareadheredtoandthatthehigheststandardsofcarearemaintainedatalltimes.
• AssistinthedevelopmentofclinicalprotocolsensuringthatthesearereviewedinaccordancewiththeneedsoftheserviceinconjunctionwiththeWard/Unitmanager.
• Ensurethataccurateandlegiblepatientrecordsarekeptinlinewithprofessionalandlegalrequirements.
• Promote and maintain effective working relationships and communications withconsultants,medicalstaff,nursecolleaguesandothermulti-agencyprofessionals.
• BerequiredtoworkacrossalltheemergencydepartmentsoftheTrust,includingminorinjuryunitsonarotationalordemandledprogramme
• Actastheidentifiednurseforagroupofpatientsbyassessing,planning,implementingandevaluatingtheircare
• Supervisemembersofstaffingivingandmaintaininghighstandardsofcare.
• Regularlytakechargeofanareaintheabsenceofamoreseniormemberofstaff.Demonstrateleadershipinsupportingthepatientpathway.
• Actatthepatients’advocate.
• Liaisewithallmembersofthemulti-disciplinaryteam
• Participateintakinganactiveroleinplanningeffective,timely,andsafedischarges/admissions.Beclinicallycompetentinallareasofadvancedpracticerelevanttothepost.
• BepartofthepaediatricrotationplanwithintheTrust.
• Assistindevelopingaresearchandevidence-basedapproachtoallpracticeslinkingwithTrust-widecolleagues.
• Seekopportunitiestocreatechanges,whichwillenhancestandardsofcareandpractice.Helptofacilitatethedevelopmentofreflectivepractice

• Remain‘costaware’andutiliseequipmentandresourcesinacost-effectiveway.
• Make recommendations whereit is evident that appropriate changes may improve efficiency.Beawareofthesickness/absencecontrolproceduresandparticipateinanyinitiativestoreducesicknessabsence.
• Undertakeappraisalsofband2and3staff.
