Job summary We are seeking an experienced staff nurse to join us in our emergency department at Queens Hospital Burton. Working in our ED you will get to work in all areas of the department - Pitstop, Majors, resus, minors. As we are a dual ED we see both adults and children, you will be given adequate training for this. As you progress through your induction a vast array of learning opportunities are available such as triage competency, cannulation and venepuncture and ILS/PILs. We offer in house training from our dedicated education team who run study days and help keep you up to date with mandatory training. Main duties of the job The post holder will prioritise, assess, plan, evaluate and deliver all relevant aspects of care to an agreed and expected high standard. Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the clinical governance process. Act as a mentor/preceptor to junior staff, with specific responsibility for pre-registration students. Participate fully in a structured competency based programmes, as required while working in all areas of the Emergency Department.
