What skills and experience we're looking for
We have an exciting opportunity to join North Star Academy Trust following recent growth and are seeking to recruit a reliable, enthusiastic and efficient Site Assistant to be responsible for maintaining the school estates across our academies. The role is based within North Bristol, and a driving license is required in order to travel between academies.
Working under the direction of the Estates Manager, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the smooth running of our school, with responsibility for ensuring the school estates are well maintained, safe and fit for purpose at all times.
Duties will include:
• Act as a main keyholder and be responsible for the opening/ closing
• Carrying out reactive repairs and planned maintenance tasks
• Portering duties
• Completing compliance tasks, e.g. fire, legionella, meter readings, emergency lighting, etc.
• Carrying out maintenance work such as painting & decorating, basic plumbing and carpentry work.
• Supervising and monitoring of contractors, ensuring safe systems of work are in place.
• Following and promoting a strong Health and Safety culture

You will be required to work up to 37 hours per week. The shift pattern will be discussed at interview. You will be entitled to 25 days holiday per annum (pro rata for part-time), to be arranged by prior agreement, plus bank holidays.
