An opportunity has arisen within Warrington Innovation Network to recruit a PCN Pharmacy Technician. Our ideal candidate would be an individual with experience working within a GP practice or Primary Care Network.
The candidate must have a willingness to learn and be willing to partake in an accredited training programme (if required) to work towards achieving a nationally recognised CPPE pathway certificate. It is essential they will be proactive, flexible and highly motivated.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our PCN Pharmacy Hub team.
The successful candidate would be supported by a highly skilled Pharmacy Team of 1 x 8A Clinical Pharmacist, 3 x Clinical Pharmacists, 2 x Pharmacy Technician team members and a team of Care Coordinators. Our pharmacy team work to agreed processes/procedures to provide a consistent and high quality approach to pharmacy care across our PCN and will be essential to support the delivery of care to our patients.

Job responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
* To oversee and participate in the daily preparation of repeat prescriptions in order to support the medical staff in ensuring high quality, safe and timely repeat prescribing.
* To review hospital initiated medication changes in accordance with Practice Protocols and to update Patients' medical records / prescribing accordingly.
* To review and complete relevant document workflow in accordance to PCN policies.
* To contribute to the development and implementation of a Medicines Management Policy in order to support the achievement of the Practices Prescribing Quality and Financial Targets.
* To contribute to the review and development of Repeat Prescribing Protocols / Standard Operating Procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Repeat Prescribing systems.
* To provide advice to GPs, staff and patients in changes to prescribing in order to support the improvement of prescribing safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
* To make changes to Patients' prescribing records in accordance with Practice Protocols in order to support safe and cost effective prescribing.
* To take a proactive approach to the safe handling of prescriptions, including assessment of risk and making recommendations for improvement.
* To respond to medication queries from Patients and Staff in a professional manner, referring to the appropriate GP in accordance with Practice Protocols.
* To advise on the sourcing and safe management of medicines as appropriate.
Communication:
* Establish positive working relationships and effective communication with the Warrington Innovation Network GP Practices, integrated care health and care teams, and a range of local voluntary sector and community organisations.
* Utilise and demonstrate sensitive communication styles to ensure patients are fully informed and consent to treatment.
* Communicate effectively to overcome communication barriers with patients and the general public displaying emotional crisis, vulnerability, verbal/physical aggression, learning difficulties, recognising the need for alternative methods of communication.
* Ability to cope with frequently challenging, diverse and stressful situations.
Admin and professional:
* To use highly developed knowledge and skills to provide high standards of patient-centered care.
* To maintain accurate contemporaneous records on all aspects of the care process and patient contact.
* To ensure that all project paperwork e.g. performance information is completed and available in a timely manner.
* Contribute to the development of the service, e.g. developing service pathways, paperwork and sharing good practice across Warrington Innovation Network.
* Awareness of, and compliance with, all relevant local/clinical policies and guidelines.

Qualifications
