As part of the expansion of our Homecare services, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Pharmacy Homecare Officer to work as a key part of the Homecare team in Pharmacy across both of the Bedfordshire Hospital sites, liaising with Homecare providers, clinical teams and Pharmacy colleagues to ensure a consistent supply of high-risk medication to patients' homes.
This role involves activities related to management of Homecare prescriptions and generating orders for these via Homecare providers used by the Trust using the Pharmacy computer systems.
If you are interested in this post, you will need experience of working to deadlines and managing your own workload to meet the needs of a service and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills. You must be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for trying new roles and delivering an excellent patient experience.
Main duties of the job
1. To carry out a range of duties associated with the ordering/receipt and invoicing of medicines provided through Homecare medicine providers using the Pharmacy computer systems across sites.
2. To maintain relevant databases related to all aspects of Homecare medicines provision and provide appropriate reports as required.
3. To carry out a range of duties associated with ordering/receipt and invoicing of pharmaceutical items to cover absences in the Pharmacy Procurement team, as required, using the Pharmacy computer system.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE English and maths equivalent
* Full ECDL or equivalent experience
* Level 2 NVQ units in relevant Pharmaceutical area or equivalent
* Experience of working to deadlines
* Experience of data inputting - raising orders/invoicing
* Experience of running simple reports using Excel or similar
* Previous experience of working with pharmaceutical products
* Experience of raising orders/invoicing
Knowledge
* Knowledge of office procedures
* Knowledge of sales and purchase ledger
* Understanding of the need for confidentiality awareness at all times
* Knowledge of the NHS
* Awareness of medicine names
