Machine Tool Fitter
Become a member of the Machinery Build Team responsible for the build of sub-assembly units. This position of Machine Tool Fitter is responsible for the integration of these units onto the overall machine build of Friction Welding Machinery, including installation and upgrades on-site at customers' locations - both within the UK and Worldwide.
This position is an integral part of our Operations team. We are seeking a focused, detail-oriented team member with high standards and a strong work ethic coupled with a desire to learn.
Position Summary
We are searching for a skilled and creative-minded team member to fit and assemble machine unit assemblies such as Spindles, Clamps, Automation, Lubrication, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, and other mechanical sub-assemblies. You will fit/assemble those units within the general assembly of the friction welding machine using assembly drawings and schematics. Working in collaboration with the Build Supervisor, our Mechanical Build/Fitters ensure that each unit and machine is built on time, to the machine schedule, on spec to the assembly and mechanical specifications of the machine, and on budget to the estimated hours for each sub-assembly.
Come and be a part of the Company initiative of Up Front Planning by participating in a series of meetings held prior to the project build phase on the release of each unit from the design phase. Your expertise will be valued as you review and voice any concerns on each design and identify all materials required to support the Mechanical Build sequence.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
1. Assemble machines per assembly prints
2. Read hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
3. Hydraulic tube bending/forming and making hose assemblies
4. Install pneumatic and hydraulic systems
5. Utilize welding ability to fabricate mounting brackets
6. Inspect parts from a drawing using various inspection equipment
7. Build spindles
8. Build clamps
9. Perform on-site installation, upgrades, and refurbishments
10. Operate machine shop equipment such as Miller, Lathe, Surface Grinder, etc.
11. Integrate vendor automation, conveyors, robots, and guarding
Required Education And/or Experience
1. City and Guild Mechanical Engineering and/or BTECH Mechanical Engineering
2. Machine Tool Fitter Experience
3. Bespoke machine building experience, preferred
