In addition, the congenital cardiac anaesthesia group provide services for cardiac cath labs, radiotherapy, ENT and bronchoscopy. There is also responsibility to provide anaesthesia for non-cardiac surgery in patients with congenital cardiac disease. The anaesthesia on call commitment is approximately 1:5 whole-time equivalents with prospective cover. Within the congenital cardiothoracic work in this post there is a significant commitment to anaesthesia for adults with congenital heart disease and we work closely with our colleagues in the adult cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care departments. In addition to the challenges of the role, we can offer you a commitment to teaching, education, research and audit.
