Job Title: Electronics Engineer (Water Industry) Location: Wales, UK Job Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team supporting the water industry in Wales. The successful candidate will bring expertise in industrial automation systems, particularly with PLC/SCADA systems, to deliver innovative solutions for water management and treatment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain electronic systems and equipment for water treatment facilities, pump stations, and distribution networks. Program, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronic systems with broader operational and automation strategies. Perform system testing, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure reliability and efficiency. Monitor compliance with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Contribute to the design and execution of upgrades and retrofitting projects. Provide technical support and training for end-users and operators. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in electronics engineering, preferably within the water industry or similar sectors. Hands-on expertise in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or similar) and SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, GE, or similar). Strong understanding of instrumentation, control systems, and industrial automation. Knowledge of water treatment processes and related regulations is a plus. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to travel to various sites across Wales.
