We are currently looking for an experienced and motivated Assistant Financial Controller to join our team at The Stafford London Hotel.
The Assistant Financial Controller
supports the Financial Controller, and specifically self accounting, full balance sheet reconciliation's, bank reconciliation's, month end accruals and prepayments.

About the role, what will I be doing?
* Support most
aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting etc.)
* Assist in the formulation of internal controls
and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements
in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
* Manage journal entries, invoices etc. and
reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
* Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
* Participate in preparation for the annual audit
* Help in development of reports for management or
regulatory bodies
* Review the company’s accounting information to
identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
* Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate
processes and maintain records
* Support
and supervise Finance Assistants and cover their roles when required
* Work
with Payroll Officer and Financial Controller to establish a commercial
finance /FP&A function to support the Hotel operations team from
transitioning from reporting to a more analytical and value added focus
role
Who are we looking for?
* Previous experience, in a similar role in a
luxury hotel working with a PMS (Opera) system is essential
* At least 5 years experience in hospitality
* Excel to intermediate level at least and
strong presentation skills
* Systems experience Fourth and Access Procure
Wizard, Micros, Business Central and Xero
* Highly organised, multitasking individual with a positive attitude
& a team player
* Ability to manage varying needs and prioritizing to ensure the best
business results
* Excellent communication skills are essential as is the observance
of discretion at all times due to the high sensitivity of the information
handled
* An exceptional attention to detail is also required as is a
flexible attitude when it comes to working time as the role which is
primarily Monday to Friday will occasionally require weekend working
* Effective written communication skills including the ability to
prepare reports and proposals
* Prior experience working in FP&A will be valuable to develop
ideas for initial set up and improvement.
* Attention to detail with collaboration with Payroll Officer to
provide analysis to the operation team to improve efficiencies and reduce
costs.
