Job Description
To instruct, train, demonstrate, and assess students on competence-based/skills-based learning programmes in the Welding workshops. Learners will be assessed on a range of welding techniques throughout their programme of study at Levels 1, 2, and 3.
Responsibilities:
1. Support lecturing staff on competence-based skills to standards set by external bodies, currently industry-led bodies and awarding bodies:
1. In workshops and associated workrooms
2. In the workplace
3. Establishing, monitoring, and assessing work experience/placement activities in realistic work environments
2. Train, demonstrate, assess, and support students on competence-based/skills-based learning programmes.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Current and relevant industrial experience or time served apprentice in a Welding Engineering sector.
2. Teaching and/or Training Experience – Desirable.
3. Hold a Welding or fabrication based NVQ qualification at a minimum Level 3.
4. Be a qualified teacher or must be prepared to commence an appropriate teaching qualification on appointment to the post.
5. Grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent) or willing to undertake.
6. A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
