As a Senior Podiatrist in Offender Health, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients within the HMP setting. This includes determining a clinical diagnosis, agreeing with the patient on a podiatric treatment plan, and maintaining records as an autonomous practitioner.
About the Role
The successful candidate will manage their own clinical caseload, including managing waiting lists in partnership with the HMP site. They will maintain professional standards, comply with all PPH standards, policies, and procedures, and be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of their work.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage own clinical caseload, including management of any waiting lists in partnership with the HMP site.
* Maintain professional standards, comply with all PPH standards, policies, and procedures.
* Clinically responsible for designated caseload of patients, to organise this effectively and efficiently with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.
* Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with complex presentations, using investigative and analytical skills, and formulate individualised management and treatment plans.
* Deliver a wide range of podiatric treatments, provide advice and instruction to patients, and communicate effectively with patients and carers.
Professional Responsibilities
* Maintain own clinical professional development (CPD) by keeping up to date with new trends and developments.
* Participate in the CPD training programme, attend external courses, and practise reflective practice.
* Demonstrate a sound understanding of Clinical Governance and Risk Management, apply to work situation, and represent Premier Physical Healthcare externally.
Organisational Responsibilities
* Be responsible for area of work, plan and organise efficiently and effectively with regard to patient management and use of time.
* Decide priorities for patient management, ensure that these remain in accordance with best clinical practice.
* Maintain accurate documentation, communicate assessment and treatment results to appropriate bodies, and be actively involved in data collection and statistics.
