An internationally leading manufacturing company is looking for an accountancy & finance professional to join the company as a Project Accountant.
Based in Nailsea, the Project Accountant will support the Project Finance team for the Manifolds, Distribution, and Connections (MDC) Product Line within Subsea Project & Services business. The role provides financial reporting and analysis to the project execution team and other stakeholders including the Project Finance Manager. In the role, you will be part of a global team of 16 and be responsible for budget management across a number of projects.

The role will involve daily use of the SPS Oracle ERP system; the successful candidate will quickly acquire the ability to analyse, understand and simply explain financial transactions to financial and non-financial stakeholders.
The role will take on financial control of large EPC projects, where you will work together with other members of the project finance team to manage budgets and forecast project spend profiles, reporting any variances in expected total project cost and clearly linking project delivery dates to financial milestones. You will be a key resource in driving on-time delivery through operational teams in order to meet customer commitment dates.
As a finance specialist, you will be responsible for:
1. Project cost control for a portfolio of projects. Managing the impact of change orders and identifying and reporting changes in expected cost for project scope.
2. Quarterly forecasting of spend profile across projects, reflecting project execution in line with the project plan.
3. Quarterly Project Cost Review (PCR) to validate total project cost to the wider SPS management team.
4. Weekly management of cost budgets within Oracle ERP.
5. Reporting of any quarterly volume variance through to SPS QMI.
6. Support the SPS cash collection effort by maintaining project focus on timely achievement of project cash milestones.
Qualifications & skills required:
1. Strong academic background or previous project accounting experience.
2. Working knowledge of Excel and willingness to learn quickly.
3. Strong work ethic.
4. Strong interpersonal skills and an effective team player.
5. Effective written and oral communication skills.
6. Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and attention to detail.
7. Commitment to HSE, integrity, and compliance priorities.
8. Communicate clearly and professionally with finance and non-finance professionals within the organisation.
